Festival for Education

Program brought to the educational grounds by the European Environmental & Arts Festival(EEAF) this year uses great potential of documentary and other audiovisual means to approach young people. Documentaries not only supply information but above all raise interest in problematic matters, help to draw attention, bring out questions concerning the issues and encourages searching for their answers.

In the future we would like to create learning materials that will help pedagogues effectively enrich tuition with an attractive method to facilitate tasks on all sorts of relevant issues. We welcome tutors who are interested in assisting us in creating those materials and joining the educational plan for schools.

The EEAF project in schools should help with education on human rights and environment via documentaries. Our aim is to make documentaries permanent part of education.

The objective of the program is, through documentary screenings, to guide young people to broad-minded intercultural communication, to educate them in human rights sector, environmental issues and development support. We want to supply evidence and information on disrespect of human rights both in the present and the past, contribute to elimination of prejudices, racial and ethnic intolerance and xenophobia, strengthen their critical view on everyday media influence and cultivate their natural abilities to uncover manipulation tendencies to which they have been, are and will be subjected on daily basis. We want to direct young people’s attention to pondering about the values of open tolerant and democratic society, help them in researching connections and forming their own opinions, expand their social, cultural and historical awareness.

Here you can look through the films we have prepared for 2008. The films are divided to address every age group:
