Brian

Brian Forsyth

I was born in Arbroath in 1950 and attended Hayshead Primary School before moving to Caithness with my family in 1955. Most of my schooling was done there, at Lieurary and Janetstown primary schools and Thurso High School. On my return to Arbroath in 1966, I spent my final year at Arbroath High School.
I joined the staff of the Arbroath Herald in 1967 as a junior reporter with Nor Riddle as my mentor. I have served with the paper for 41 years and am now associate editor.
I am married to Linda and have three sons, Neil, Christoper and Stephen.
When I was first married I joined the Territorial Army and wasfor a short time a subaltern with 212 Highland Battery, RA(V) in Arbroath. About the same time I was also interim secretary of the Arbroath committee of the Dundee and Tayside Chamber of Commerce. My interests now are aircraft, computing and football, but only as a spectator!
