WITNESS nakłania organizacje ochrony praw człowieka na całym świecie do wykorzystania zapisu wideo jako narzędzia swej pracy. W oparciu o zasadę wiarygodności zeznań „z pierwszej ręki” oraz o zasadę, że obraz przekonuje znacznie bardziej niż słowa. Nagrania WITNESS i organizacji partnerskich wykorzystywane były :

w związku z tak różnorodnymi problemami, jak „czystki” bezdomnych dzieci na ulicach Ameryki Środkowej, przemoc na tle seksualnym wobec dziewcząt i kobiet w czasie wojny domowej w Sierra Leone, czy los przesiedlonej ludności w Birmie.

Materiały przechowywane są w Archiwum WITNESS, gdzie dostępne są dla społeczności międzynarodowej jako wyjątkowe źródło informacji na temat stanu poszanowania praw człowieka.

Partner
Core Partner Program: WITNESS partners with 12-15 human rights organizations for a period of one to three years, to train and support the organization to use video as a key component of their advocacy work. The goal of the partnership is to foster a campaign-specific relationship, designed to create high visibility and impact using video. WITNESS invites groups to apply to this program on a rolling basis and new partners are selected carefully, based on the strength of their human rights work, clarity of their advocacy focus and the ability of video to enhance their campaigns. Train
Seeding Video Advocacy Program: Short-term trainings for networks of human rights defenders along with training materials and methods to 'seed' best practices in video advocacy around the globe. For more information visit: www.witness.org/training.

Video Advocacy Institute (VAI): An immersive two-week training course on integrating video into human rights advocacy campaigns for 25-30 human rights activists from around the world. Preserve
WITNESS Media Archive: The WITNESS Media Archive at www.witnessmediaarchive.org collects, documents, preserves and provides access to audiovisual human rights media in the support of advocacy, prosecution of justice, truth-telling, and the historical record. The video collection comprises over 3,000 hours of video from human rights defenders around the world.
