Brian

Anne Stuart

Anne Stuart has lived in Angus most of my life and have always had a keen interest in wildlife. She was educated at Brechin High School and then at St Andrews University where she took an M A degree. She went to Manchester, then, to train as a teacher of the deaf. She taught deaf children all her working life. Anne is now involved with deaf adults through the Arbroath and District Lip-reading Group She has lived in London, in Kent and in Tasmania - that was where she started to take an interest in ecology. She realised that everything on the planet is so interconnected that any change creates a ripple effect and no-one can be sure how this will affect widlife or the environment in general. When she retired she joined Friends of the Earth Tayside and became their secretary. She particularly enjoy taking part in practical activities such as the annual beach clean-up. She has always enjoyed film and go to the cinema as often as she can. She is also a keen gardener and, with her husband, take pride in growing as much of their own food as possible.
