THE EUROPEAN ENVIRONMENTAL AND ARTS FESTIVAL (EEAF)

EEAF is a new festival. The festival takes place in Angus County, Dundee City and Perth in summer from 28th July to 25th August 2007. It is the International Festival of Documentary Films on Human Rights, Animal Rights and Environmental issues which shall attract interest of audience.

The festival will be held under the auspices of Czech Ambassador Mr Jan Winkler. In addition, the festival is endorsed by Councillor Alan Grant, SNP Group.

The festival centre will be at OASIS, Arbroath. The other festival places include Abbey Theatre in Arbroath, Community Learning and Development Service - Damacre Centre in Brechin, Community Learning and Development Service - Panmure Centre in Carnoustie, AK Bell Library in Perth, Fairfield Neighbourhood Centre in Perth, Michell Centre in Montrose, etc.

The festival will feature 19 documentaries from 10 countries all around the world: USA, Poland, France, Denmark, China, UK, Croatia, Slovakia, India and Czech.

As usual, there is also the Film Competition, and Prize Awards going on. The categories of the Film Competition are as follow: I. Best Film, II. Best Documentary Film, III. Best Ecology Film, IV. Best Student Film, V. Best Original Film, VI. The Viewer’s Prize. The categories of awards are: Award of Karel Kryl, Prize awarded by the festival organizer, Polish Awards Statuette, Award of the Arbroath town.

The opening ceremony will take place at OASIS, Arbroath on Saturday, July 28, at 7pm. On this occasion, the film “Vote for Me”, created by “Why democracy” organization, will be presented.

Thematic sections of the documentary films are: 1) Human Rights, 2) Environmental Matters, 3) Animal Rights, and 4) Student independent films.

We are doing this festival also in order to collect informative and educational films and documentaries. We plan to screen these films at schools later on and make it an integral part of EEAF festival.

ENTRANCE TO ALL EVENTS IS FREE.
