It was necessary to practise a rapid departure from the landing spot and the elimination of any traces. A parachute caught in a tree could draw attention and might spark the beginning of a ruthless pursuit. Yet, preparation and training was one thing but what really happened in the Protectorate was entirely different, especially with the first drops.
