The mystery and wilderness of the Scottish Highlands also claimed one Czechoslovak victim. On 13 August 1942 during the Sixth Course, the nephew of Josef Strankmüller, Head of Czechoslovak Military Offensive Intelligence, died. During a two-day march through mountain terrain he slipped when crossing an overflowing mountain stream. Unluckily his leg became caught between boulders; he struggled desperately for several minutes.... The photograph shows his funeral at Pinner, Middlesex, the place of final rest for members of Czechoslovak resistance during World War 2.
