Richard Matthey / Germany / 2006 / 52 min.

This is story of one woman's passion for wolfes. Gudrun Pflueger os an ex world champion cross country skier and long distance runner. For the last six years she has been studying wolfes in the wild Canada collecting field data, hair, dropping and other evidence for use in scientific projects on wolfes. In this film we follow as she goes in search of the coast wolfes of British Columbia. Coast wolfes are unique- they have more genetic variability than any other wolf, they live in the coastal forests and islands of the west coast of Canada and have a varied diet eating deer, otters, berries, scavenging mussels from the sea shore and even catching fish in the rivers. The five week expedition is set to become Gudrun's most memorable encounter with wolfes ever. Three weeks after the end of the exhibition she was diagnosed with a brain tumor. For Gudrun her ancounter with the wolfes will provide her with hope for the future as she faces years of treatment for her cancer.
