On the seabed of the world’s oceans are present all kind of ordnance. after many years, due to corrosion, several toxic compounds are released into the environment causing a long term pollution which damages marine ecosystems and poses a major threat to fishermen. The RED COD documentary illustrates the activities carried out along apulian coasts, to assess effects and risks toward the ecosystems caused by the leaking of persistent pollutants, to obtain a better knowledge about both quantity and type of the dumped ammunitions, and to identify the best available technologies to clean up the affected areas of the seafloor.
